4045 & 4021 Rainbow St and 850 McKenzie Ave

Proposed: 2 Eight-storey towers, 12 Single-Family Houses, 27 Attached and Custom Homes

Developer Daniel Doore held a public meeting to discuss the proposed development on 21 February 2007 at the Salvation Army citadel.
A second meeting to discuss traffic concerns was held on 20 March 2007.

Saanich Council approved the Public Hearing for the Rezoning Application on 09 July 2007. For minutes from that council meeting, please see the Saanich website.

20 August 2007 - Saanich Council rejected North Quadra's appeal of the decision to send this rezoning application to Public Hearing. For minutes from that council meeting, please see the Saanich website.

13 September 2007 - The developer held another public meeting to discuss changes made to the proposal.

02 October 2007 - Public Hearing on Zoning Bylaws:
No. 8875: Proposed new mixed residential Rainbow hill zone
N0. 8876: Proposed mixed residential development on Rainbow Street and McKenzie Avenue
Passed by unanimous vote of Council.

 
4030 Borden Street

Proposed: 2 Four-Storey Condominium Blocks and Townhouses;

15 October 2007: Public Meeting at Committee of the Whole on Rezoning Application - See details of the rezoning application here.
Proposal was unanimously tabled by council.

27 February 2008: New plans have been submitted to Saanich planning department for this development. The previous plan for a roundabout at the intersection of Cedar Hill X Rd and Borden streets has been withdrawn in favour of a two way left turn lane as well as other modifications to Borden Street north of McKenzie Ave.

9 April 2008, 7:00 pm - Public Meeting was held by developer at Reynolds Secondary School to show new plans for site and roadway.

 
4145 Quadra Street Proposed: Subdivision into two properties for two Single-Family homes. The existing "Log-Cabin" style home will be removed.
